Accessibility Statement

Our Commitment

MAC's Electric wants everyone, including people with disabilities, to be able to use this website. We build toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, and we keep reviewing and improving the site.

What We Have Done

• A visible focus indicator on every link, button and field, with a three-band ring on buttons so it shows on light and dark backgrounds.
• A skip-to-content link, one main heading per page and headings in order.
• A visible label on every form field. Errors are explained in a sentence, tied to the field for screen readers and never shown by color alone.
• Alternative text on every photo. Decorative images and icons are marked so screen readers skip them.
• A mobile menu that keeps focus inside it, closes with Escape and returns focus to the menu button.
• The service guide is a set of real buttons. Each one says whether its list is open or closed, and it all works with the keyboard. Without JavaScript, every list shows.
• Tap targets of at least 44 pixels on phones, and form text of at least 16 pixels.
• Text and buttons meet 4.5:1 contrast. The brand blue is lightened on dark backgrounds so it stays readable.
• Support for the reduced-motion setting, which turns animation off. No animation runs longer than about a second.

Known Limitations

• The lightning bolt in our logo is dark gray on our near-black header, under 3:1 contrast. The business name next to it is white, and it is also written out as text on every page.
• The reviews scroll sideways on phones. The row can be scrolled with the keyboard once it has focus, and all four reviews are in the page for screen readers.
• Our form uses Google reCAPTCHA. Google builds and controls it, and we cannot guarantee its accessibility.
• We have not yet tested the site with real users of screen readers or other assistive technology. Our review has been done in the code, with the keyboard and by measuring contrast in a browser.
